A CONSORTIUM OF 7 EUROPEAN ENTITIES, COORDINATED BY ASERM, DEVELOPS THE PROJECT OF TRAINING KTRM (ON-LINE PROGRAM OF TRAINING IN THE USE THE TECHNICIANS And TECHNOLOGIES OF RAPID MANUFACTURING)

The Consortium formed by seven entities is developing a European Project of Transfer of Innovation, inside the Program of permanent learning LEONARDO DA VINCI.

This initiative, framed inside the project “KTRM: Knowledge Transfer of Rapid Manufacturing”, www.rapid-manufacturing-training.eu, funded by the European Community, part of the knowledge of each entity in the field of the technologies of Rapid Manufacturing, so much in the investigation, the services and  the models of management for technologies advanced of production.

The final aim is to give diffusion of the possibilities that allow to reach the technologies of Rapid Manufacturing (RM) in the companies with own product and also for the professionals that work in the design and development of parts.

KTRM  is a Project that groups to three Spanish entities, the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the Technological Centre Fundació ASCAMM, and the Spanish Association of Rapid Manufacturing (ASERM), two Belgian entities, MATERIALISE (skilled company in software and services AM), SIRRIS (Technological Centre), the centre of Italian investigation ITIA and the Technological Centre English ISMITHERS.

The project has a length of 2 years, and is based in two big products that will realise  along the project: the on-line training module, program of specialized training that will allow to the students know the technologies, the materials and the characteristics of use of these technologies as well as the possibilities that offer for the design of pieces and also the opportunities to create new models of business or of management thanks to the use of these technologies. The other objective is to develop a practical guide that allow to consult the technical requirements of the technologies stood out and serve of reference to achieve increase the number of users.

The project  is in a advanced phase  regarding compilation of the didactic material that it has to contribute each entity, and in the development of the first version of on-line modules. Along the next quarter will realise some pilot proofs in universities and companies, to test the efficiency of the training and detect possible modifications to enter in the training.

According to the analysis of market realised, the majority of the people interested in receiving training for  RM, have a technical profile (engineers, architects  and designers), with interest in discovering new techniques and particularly the technologies RM, that allow, between other advantages, reduce costs, shorten time of development of product and, besides, achieve the customization  of the final product.

Some of the sectors that more use these technologies are: the medical sector (prosthesis, implants,…), the aeronautical sector (channels of refrigeration, lighter parts ), the automotive sector (competition, tuning, special cars,…) in addition to the engineers, designers and architects that employ increasingly the technologies RM for his works of investigation, development of products and production of .
